Waterlink Place

Roggebaai Canal Tourism Precinct started in the early 2000’s and Raymond Alexander was approached to place a mixed use building comprising of shops on the Ground Storey, office space on the First Storey and luxury apartments from the Second Storey to the Fifth Storey, with the Fifth Storey playing host to a high end Penthouse suite. With the help of the Design Review council and many meetings, Raymond finally settled on a design that pleased everyone, and was well suited to its surroundings. Ongoing investigations into making the building less demanding on energy and water resources, while using greener products, are still being taken into consideration while the building is placed on hold for future development.

My role, under the guidance of Raymond Alexander, in this project was to revise the drawings based on the outcomes of the design review council meetings, apply for an excavation permit, coordinate with the urban landscaper, for the planning of the foot bridge and moorings adjacent, and coordinate with the architectural visualizer for an artist’s rendering, to promote the building.

Currently still an ongoing project.
