House Hammond

At the foot of the Muizenberg mountains lies an estate overlooking Contantia, that is so aware of its surroundings, that it tries to assimilate the very nature that it is satiated in. With very strict guidelines, a conforming architectural design manual and a code of conduct, it is almost like you’re obeying mother nature and feel the need to fit in.

Ray was tasked with the opportunity of trying to fit in by creating a home. It needed to be a passive house that didn’t stand out too much or make too much noise on the backdrop of the majestic mountain and its beautiful nature.

I assisted Ray in the development of the drawings for the house and presented them to the Design Review Council to make sure that we truly fit in. I processed the plans through the local planning department, had them approved and the client was given fully approved drawings to proceed.

Our part is done with this one.

I put together the photo realistic impressions with ArchiCAD and its stock rendering engine, with no post processing.
